New month, new batch of series emotions – and these can really throw you off balance. July 2025 on Netflix shows no mercy: big brands are back, bold experiments are debuting, and the list includes productions that surprise not so much with their scale but with their ideas and precision of execution. Regardless of whether you’re looking for fantasy at the level of HBO, dark thrillers, or juicy rom-coms – this month Netflix checks off each of those needs.

Check out our selection of 5 series that stand out the most in July 2025.

The Sandman - season 2

Premiere: July 3, 2025.

The great return of one of the highest-rated comic book adaptations in recent years. “The Sandman” is a surreal journey through the worlds of dreams, death, hell, and – this time – an even greater threat to the fabric of the universe. Neil Gaiman is once again keeping his finger on the pulse, and the creative team is not shying away from bolder visions. Tom Sturridge (Dream) is even more magnetic, and the new cast (including Indya Moore and Ruairi O'Connor) adds fresh tension. Visually – pure poetry. The production style is again a mix of theatricality, practical effects, and CGI that does not try to be realistic – just beautiful.

Too Much

Premiere: July 10, 2025.

A romantic comedy with Lena Dunham at the helm, which is exactly what you might expect… yet not entirely. “Too Much” is the story of an American woman who, after a painful breakup, lands in London and starts anew. Starring Meg Stalter, she is joined by Will Sharpe, who brings a good deal of British cool to this relationship. The series was shot with a strong sense of urban style – fewer colors, more space, a realistic camera, and a ton of dialogue that sounds as if someone has truly lived it. This is not a classic Netflix rom-com. It’s more “Fleabag” than “Emily in Paris.”

Leviathan

Premiere: July 10, 2025

Anime that can stir things up - especially among those who are already tired of clichés. "Leviathan" is a steampunk tale about an alternate history of World War I, where air beasts and mechanical monsters fight for dominance. The series is based on a book by Scott Westerfeld and is a Japanese-American co-production, which is evident in the animation style: precise drawings, dynamic battle scenes, great choreography, and a clear retro-technology atmosphere. If "Attack on Titan" and "Castlevania" are something you like - you'll feel right at home here.

UNTAMED

Premiere: July 17, 2025.

Eric Bana and Sam Neill in the same series? Sounds like a movie from the 2000s, but "UNTAMED" is a contemporary tale from the wild heart of California. The plot? It begins with the disappearance of a tourist in Yosemite National Park, and then the tension just escalates. The series is made like a premium crime drama: long shots, muted colors, great music, and a pace that allows for emotions. Bana plays a former park ranger, Neill – an enigmatic scientist. It's more "True Detective" than "CSI".

The Hunting Wives

Premiere: July 21, 2025.

The adaptation of the bestselling novel by May Cobb comes to Netflix with Malin Åkerman and Brittany Snow in the leading roles. On the surface – an elegant series about female friendship and the boredom of American suburbs. In practice – a psychological thriller about obsession, manipulation, and secrets that emerge from a seemingly quiet life. The series is styled after the Southern USA, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere: humid nights, gunfire, furtive glances. If you like "Big Little Lies" – you'll fit right in.

So what will you choose this month?

A great dream in a new edition? London dates with obstacles? Or perhaps a cruise that turns into a dark game of survival? July 2025 is the month when Netflix doesn't take shortcuts – we're getting grand premieres, emotions in every form, and stories that stay with the viewer longer.
