Amazon has just concluded its big hardware event for 2025. The presentation took place on September 30 and was full of news – from Echo smart speakers, to a new version of Kindle Scribe, to fresh Fire TV, Ring, and Blink devices. Everything is of course integrated with the new Alexa+, which is a refreshed, more AI-driven version of Amazon's assistant.

Ring: 2K and 4K cameras and Retinal Vision feature

Amazon has expanded the Ring family with a whole line of 2K and 4K cameras and video doorbells. The most interesting innovations?

  • Retinal Vision – a system that analyzes recordings from the past two weeks to adjust image processing to real conditions.

  • Alexa+ Greetings – intelligent responses for guests at the door (e.g., asks the visitor what purpose they have for coming).

  • Search Party – a feature that allows the community to use Ring cameras to find a lost dog (and in the future, other animals as well).

Blink: year of battery life and 2-in-1 camera

Blink is a brand owned by Amazon, specializing in easy-to-use and affordable home monitoring systems. Its greatest advantage is the battery-operated cameras that can work for months without recharging. This solution is particularly popular among those seeking maintenance-free monitoring both inside and outside the home.

New products have also appeared in the Blink family:

  • Blink Outdoor 2K+ – year-round operation on a single battery, two-way audio with noise reduction, person and vehicle detection (requires a subscription).

  • Blink Mini 2K+ – compact indoor camera, just plug it in and it works.

  • Blink Arc – solution with two lenses that combines the image into one wide shot using AI.

Fire TV: Omni QLED and the New 4K Stick

Fire TV is Amazon's television platform that has been competing with Google TV and Android TV for years, offering access to streaming services, applications, and content integrated with Alexa. In the USA, it is one of the most popular Smart TV solutions – both in the form of TVs and media streaming devices.

At this year's event, Amazon refreshed its portfolio significantly:

  • Fire TV 2-Series and 4-Series – more affordable models for the mass market.

  • Fire TV Omni QLED – the flagship line with a better panel and Omnisense technology.

Omni QLED with Omnisense Functionality

It is the Omni QLED that is set to be the standout feature in the offering. Amazon has implemented the Omnisense solution here, which utilizes motion and light sensors:

  • the television turns on automatically when the user enters the room,

  • it turns off when you leave,

  • it adjusts colors and brightness of the image according to the lighting conditions in the room.

It is somewhat like an “ambient mode,” only more advanced – the television becomes a part of the environment, rather than just a black screen hanging on the wall.

Fire TV Stick 4K Select and Vega OS

Also new is the Fire TV Stick 4K Select with Vega OS. This device is meant to compete with Google Chromecast 4K and Apple TV 4K, but Amazon is heavily focusing on integration with Alexa+.

With the new assistant, you can:

  • quickly find a movie or series,

  • ask about an actor and immediately get their biography or filmography,

  • check what happened earlier in the plot if you paused the viewing,

  • and in the future, also integrate content with your own interests (e.g., recommendations based on your questions).

It is clear that Amazon wants Fire TV to become not just a television but a center of home entertainment and smart home. Thanks to Alexa+ and integration with Echo, the TV can respond to voice commands, control other devices, and even act as a large control screen for smart home.

Kindle: Scribe Colorsoft with a New Engine

Kindle has received a refresh in the form of the Scribe Colorsoft. The new e-reader is thinner, lighter, and equipped with a rendering engine that improves color representation and reduces lag while writing. Amazon has also added a productivity toolkit – a digital notebook, AI-supported search, and integration with Google Drive and OneDrive.

Echo: stronger sound and Alexa Home Theater

Finally – what many have been waiting for. Amazon revealed Echo Dot Max, a new version of Echo Studio, as well as Echo Show 8 and 11. All models received fresh chips and native support for Alexa+. Moreover, you can now connect up to five Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio in a surround system, and everything will be balanced by Alexa Home Theater.

Amazon has clearly focused on AI and the integration of the entire ecosystem this year. Whether we are talking about cameras, TVs, or speakers – everything revolves around Alexa+ and the personalization of user experiences.
