For now, this is not yet an official announcement, but it has been making waves in the corridors. Posts have surfaced from Samsung's European parts database, suggesting that the hit QD-OLED panel will not be confined to just one television and one size. If everything is confirmed, we can expect quite a few changes in the S95, S90, and S85 series in 2025 and 2026.
What it's like today: QD-OLED only in one S90F
In the current 2025 offer, the "true" QD-OLED in the more mass-market line has only one model: the 65-inch Samsung S90F. The other sizes of the S90F are already based on the classic WOLED from LG Display, just like the lower S85F series. That's why the 65-inch QD-OLED is so often mentioned as Samsung's most cost-effective OLED.
In short: if you want QD-OLED and you’re not aiming for the more expensive S95F, the choice is simple – 65S90F.
What the leaks say: 77 inches also with QD-OLED
New entries in Samsung's parts database suggest that this state of affairs will not last long. Documents regarding next year's and "future-next-year's" models indicate that the QD-OLED panel will also be available in 77 inches.
In the S95H family models, the 77-inch versions are described as QD-OLED, just like the 65 and 55 inches. In contrast, the largest 83 inches and smaller 48 inches will use WOLED panels. In other words, the premium S95H series will combine both types of panels, but all popular living room sizes (55, 65, 77) are set to remain with QD-OLED.
It also gets interesting below. The S90H series is to be a mix of QD-OLED and WOLED depending on the size and market. The documents clearly show that the 77-inch S90H in some countries has QD-OLED, while the 83, 65, 55, 48, and 42 inches stick with WOLED. It is here that we will practically see the slogan "the hit QD-OLED panel will be available in other sizes" – the 77S90H may become what the 65S90F is today.
S85H and Company: WOLED Holds Its Position
The lower series S85H, according to leaks, is expected to remain fully WOLED, regardless of the diagonal. This makes sense from a strategic standpoint: Samsung can more clearly separate the "entry OLED" shelf from the more advanced QD-OLED options in the S90H and S95H. It is also worth noting the slight differences in the designations: alongside the S90H, there are variants S92H, S93H, and S94H. They mainly differ in the audio section, colour of the casing, and type of stand. The documents indicate that:
The S90H features Object Tracking Sound Lite,
The S92H/S93H/S94H utilise full Object Tracking Sound,
The S95H receives Object Tracking Sound Plus.
So, the classic "those who like to pay extra for better speakers and finishing will have something to enjoy."
WOLED vs QD-OLED: a mix that could stir things up
For those in the know, this all means one thing: in 2026, buying a Samsung OLED will require even more careful checking of specifications. The same “S90H” in 77 inches may have a completely different panel than the 55-inch version sitting right next to it in the store. Moreover, in some countries, the 77-inch model may come with either WOLED or QD-OLED, depending on the specific variant number.
From the manufacturer’s perspective, such a mix makes sense. Samsung can fill gaps in its offering, adjust to the availability of panels and prices, while also offering QD-OLED where gamers and film enthusiasts are most willing to pay extra – precisely in the 65 and 77-inch sizes. However, for the user, this means that reviews and precise model designations will be more important than marketing slogans.
Skipping the naming: once again without the letter "G"
Meanwhile, the leaks confirm something that has been discussed previously: Samsung will once again skip the letter "G" in the annual models. The current OLEDs are S95F, S90F, and S85F, and the parts database already lists S95H, S90H, and S85H. A similar trick was played by the company a decade ago when it jumped straight from the F series to H.
For someone who tracks the series year by year, it's just a curiosity. But for the average buyer, it could create slight chaos: "F" corresponds to 2025, "H" corresponds to 2026, and there will be no "G" models in between.
For now, rumours, but from a very specific source
All of this is, of course, still unofficial information. We are talking about leaks from Samsung's parts database, not a press release. On the other hand, the list of models is very detailed, covering various markets (QE, GQ, TQ) and containing specified combinations of screen sizes, so it’s hard to ignore.
If confirmed, 2026 could be very interesting for those hunting for larger QD-OLEDs. The current “golden child” in the form of 65S90F would then have siblings in the form of 77S90H and the entire S95H line. To what extent will Samsung dare to lower prices and how severely will they separate QD-OLED from the WOLED S85H? We will only find out with the official announcements.
At this moment, this can be treated as a well-documented piece of gossip from behind the scenes – of the kind worth keeping in mind if you are planning to get a larger Samsung OLED in the coming years.
