The purchase of a GeForce will be more difficult. NVIDIA warns of availability issues.

Calendar 2/26/2026

Planning to upgrade your computer or buy a new graphics card? You better prepare for a tougher period. NVIDIA has officially acknowledged that in the upcoming quarters, the supply of GeForce cards will be limited. This may mean poorer availability in stores and an increase in prices.

NVIDIA posts record profits, but not from gaming

During the financial results presentation, NVIDIA boasted excellent results. The gaming segment, responsible for GeForce cards, grew by 47% year on year and 13% quarter on quarter. However, the true driving force of the company today is the chips for artificial intelligence and data centres. This is where the largest share of production capacity is directed. During the conference, Colette Kress, NVIDIA's Chief Financial Officer, spoke up. She openly admitted that supply constraints will be a hurdle for the gaming industry in the first quarter of the financial year 2027 and beyond. In practice, this means that GeForce cards are not currently a priority for the manufacturer.

When Can Problems Arise?

It is worth remembering that NVIDIA's fiscal year does not align with the calendar year. The first quarter of financial year 2027 marks the beginning of 2026. The company warns that the situation may be tight for several quarters. If supply improves, sales growth will only become apparent towards the end of the year – but for now, it is too early for that. For gamers, this means one thing: fewer deliveries = higher prices and more difficult availability.

The market already remembers a time when graphics cards were nearly impossible to obtain, and prices soared. This time, the cause is not cryptocurrency mining, but huge demand for AI chips. If you are planning to purchase a GPU, the coming months may simply be a poor time for hardware upgrades. Especially if you are keen on high-end models.

NVIDIA officially warns of a limited supply of GeForce cards in 2026. Gaming continues to grow, but the company's priority remains AI. The effect? Possible shortages in stores and higher GPU prices. If you are considering purchasing a new graphics card, it is worth closely monitoring the market.
