Huawei has just unveiled its new flagship television from the Smart Screen series, and it is hard to overlook it. The model Huawei Smart Screen Mate TV Max is a true giant, aiming for the absolute top of the market and looking like a very serious competitor to the latest RGB LED and Micro LED designs.
The new Mate TV Max is now available for pre-order in China and builds on the concept presented in September when Huawei showcased the Mate TV and Mate TV Pro Mini-LED models ranging from 65 to 98 inches. This time, the company has taken a step further – or rather, a dozen or so inches further.
110 inches and Super Mini-LED
The Huawei Smart Screen Mate TV Max is available in one powerful size of 110 inches. The panel offers a native resolution of 4K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This isn't a record in this class, but it's hard to consider it a real drawback, as the rest of the specifications make a huge impression. The strongest point is the brightness – up to 6000 nits, supported by very precise Mini-LED backlight control. The manufacturer claims a contrast of 2300:1, coverage of 125% DCI-P3 and 91% BT.2020, which places this model among the top tier of LCD televisions.
Processor like that of a smartphone
Huawei boasts that the Mate TV Max is their first television equipped with a flagship smartphone-class processor. According to the manufacturer, it offers:
a 490% increase in multi-core performance,
an improvement in GPU performance of 251%.
The whole system runs on HarmonyOS and supports advanced AI features. Additionally, it includes a dedicated image enhancement chip with 3.6 billion transistors, responsible for AI 4K Super Resolution and intelligent HDR effects, among other things.
Premium design and uncompromising sound
The television looks like high-end equipment. The bezels are just 1.2 mm, and Huawei claims a 99% screen-to-body ratio. The package includes a new remote control with a touchpad, AI gesture support, and 33% better pointing accuracy compared to previous Mate TV models. Audio is another strong point. The Mate TV Max offers a 3.1.2 system:
two 20-watt speakers facing upwards,
60-watt subwoofer,
special “suspended woofer” going down to 39 Hz.
For a television, this is a very serious configuration that can comfortably replace a basic soundbar in many living rooms. In terms of connections, Huawei also did not hold back – on board, we find four HDMI 2.1 ports, USB 2.0, and S/PDIF output for connecting external audio systems.
Price and Availability
Huawei Smart Screen Mate TV Max costs 64,999 RMB in China, which roughly translates to:
Currency | Price (approximately) |
|---|---|
USD | 9,100 USD |
EUR | 8,400 EUR |
GBP | 6,900 GBP |
AUD | 13,900 AUD |
PLN | 36,000–37,000 zł |
For a 110-inch television with a brightness of up to 6000 nits, advanced Mini-LED, and top-notch specifications, this price is surprisingly low. For comparison:
Samsung expects around 25,000 pounds for its 115-inch Micro RGB TV,
Hisense 116UX RGB Mini-LED is priced at a very similar, extremely high level.
However, the key question remains – whether Mate TV Max will reach Europe or the USA. Huawei sells its smartphones globally, but previous models from the Smart Screen series were largely restricted to the Chinese market. At this moment, the manufacturer has not confirmed an international launch. However, if this model leaves China, it could significantly disrupt the ultra-large premium television segment, especially considering the price-to-capability ratio.
