Check out our selection of 5 series that stand out the most in July 2025.

The Sandman - season 2

Premiere: 3 July 2025

The great return of one of the highest-rated comic book adaptations in recent years. "The Sandman" is a surreal journey through the world of dreams, death, hell, and – this time – an even greater threat to the order of the universe. Neil Gaiman is once again keeping his finger on the pulse, and the creative team does not shy away from bolder visions. Tom Sturridge (Dream) is even more magnetic, and the new cast (including Indya Moore and Ruairi O'Connor) adds fresh tension. Visually – pure poetry. The production style is again a mix of theatricality, practical effects, and CGI, which does not attempt to be realistic – just beautiful.

Too Much

Premiere: 10th July 2025.

A romantic comedy with Lena Dunham at the helm, which is exactly what one might expect… yet not quite. “Too Much” is the story of an American woman who, after a painful breakup, lands in London and starts anew. Starring Meg Stalter, alongside her is Will Sharpe, who brings a fair amount of British cool to this relationship. The series has been shot with a strong sense of urban style – less colour, more space, a realistic camera, and a plethora of dialogues that sound as if someone has truly lived them. This is not a classic Netflix rom-com. It’s more “Fleabag” than “Emily in Paris”.

Leviathan

Premiere: 10 July 2025

Anime that can stir things up – especially among those who are tired of clichés. "Leviathan" is a steampunk tale about an alternative history of World War I, where air beasts and mechanical monsters fight for dominance. The series is based on the book by Scott Westerfeld and is a Japanese-American co-production, which is evident in the animation style: precise drawings, dynamic fight scenes, excellent choreography, and a distinct retro-technology atmosphere. If "Attack on Titan" and "Castlevania" are something you enjoy – you'll feel right at home here.

UNTAMED

Premiere: 17th July 2025

Eric Bana and Sam Neill in the same series? Sounds like cinema from the 2000s, but “UNTAMED” is a contemporary tale from the wild heart of California. The plot? It starts with the disappearance of a tourist in Yosemite National Park, and then the tension just rises. The series is made like a premium crime drama: long takes, muted colours, great music, and a pace that allows for emotions. Bana plays a former park ranger, Neill – an enigmatic scientist. It's more “True Detective” than “CSI.”

The Hunting Wives

Premiere: 21 July 2025

The adaptation of the bestselling novel by May Cobb arrives on Netflix with Malin Åkerman and Brittany Snow in leading roles. On the surface - an elegant series about female friendship and the boredom of American suburbs. In practice - a psychological thriller about obsession, manipulation and secrets that emerge from apparently tranquil lives. The series is styled after the American South, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere: humid nights, gunfire, and furtive glances. If you enjoy "Big Little Lies" - this will be perfect for you.

So what will you choose this month?

A grand dream in a new version? London dates with obstacles? Or perhaps a cruise that turns into a dark survival game? July 2025 is the month when Netflix does not take shortcuts – we get grand premieres, emotions in every form, and stories that linger with the viewer for longer.
