85-inch Samsung OLED TVs – Test Rankings

Available screen sizes: 48”, 55”, 65”, 77”, 83”

Technology: WRGB OLED

Brand: SAMSUNG

Verdict:

Samsung S85H is a very successful continuation of the S85 series and a TV that still performs its main role well: to be an affordable entry into the world of OLEDs. The biggest change from its predecessor is the use of LG Display's new OLED SE panel, but the overall character of this model remains practically unchanged. Its greatest strengths are still perfect blacks, very high contrast and a pict...

Verdict:

Samsung S90H is a TV that simply makes a brilliant impression. The combination of OLED’s absolute black, high brightness and excellent motion clarity produces a picture that’s hard to look away from. And that’s exactly what you expect from a good OLED TV. The matte anti-reflective coating also works very well. Reflections on a sunny day become less of an issue, and thanks to the standard polariser...

Verdict:

The Samsung S99H is probably the best OLED TV we’ve tested so far, and certainly the best Samsung OLED in years. In terms of picture quality it’s really hard to find a weak spot. Blacks are perfect, as you’d expect from an OLED panel, and the HDR performance impresses with brightness and colour saturation. The use of a QD-OLED panel produces an image that in many scenes looks almost reference-leve...

Verdict:

Samsung S85F in the tested version with a WOLED panel is a television that must be evaluated primarily through the lens of its price. As befits organic technology, it offers perfect, almost ideal black levels and infinite contrast in cinematic conditions. This feature alone will make a huge impression on most buyers, especially when transitioning from any LCD television. However, it cannot be deni...

Verdict:

In the case of the 83-inch version, Samsung took a different route than with smaller diagonals and opted for LG Display's Tandem WOLED panel. This move initially raised questions but has proven to be right on the money in practice. We have here an exceptionally successful mix: absolutely reference black, excellent brightness allowing enjoyment of HDR content even during the day, and overall pictur...

Verdict:

Samsung S90F is an excellent representative of the premium mid-range in the world of OLED TVs. We have an organic matrix here that guarantees perfect contrast – and no matter how much LCD manufacturers try with local dimming in Mini LEDs, this black simply cannot be replicated. The S90F shows its class without any compromises. Compared to last year's model, we get a slightly brighter WOLED panel, ...

Verdict:

The SAMSUNG S90D, also known as the S94D, is equipment that repeatedly surprised us positively during our tests. It’s worth mentioning at the outset that depending on the selected size, differences may concern the applied OLED panel. However, regardless of which variant we encounter, one can count on excellent blacks and HDR effects that, thanks to high brightness, make a huge impression. This is ...
