85-inch Samsung TVs – Test Rankings

Available screen sizes: 55”, 65”, 75”, 85”

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED QLED

Brand: SAMSUNG

Verdict:

The Frame Pro 2026 makes the most sense when you want a TV that looks good in the living room and isn’t just another large black slab on the wall. And here Samsung still does something most manufacturers can’t match. Flush mounting, interchangeable bezels, Art Mode, a matte finish and the wireless One Connect mean that when The Frame Pro is hung correctly it can really look more like a piece of de...

Verdict:

The M80H shows its strengths best where motion matters most. A fast panel, a refresh rate up to 144 Hz and relatively low motion blur make sports and fast-paced games look really good. In this respect the TV can even outperform some significantly more expensive Samsung LCD models. Gamers also get low input lag, three full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports and Game Motion Plus, which can improve the smoothn...

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED RGB

Brand: SAMSUNG

Verdict:

The Samsung R85H is above all a very versatile TV that performs well in pretty much any use case. You can put it in a bright lounge, hook up a console, watch a movie or series in the evening, or use it for everyday broadcast TV, and each time you’ll get a solid picture. It may not make the same immediate impression as Samsung’s best OLEDs, but it’s hard to point to a single feature that would seri...

Technology: LCD VA, Mini-LED RGB

Brand: SAMSUNG

Verdict:

The Samsung R95H is a TV that primarily shows that the classic LCD screen still has a lot to offer. Micro RGB is not just a marketing name here, because in the right scenes it can actually make a difference. When the screen shows strongly saturated, uniform colours, especially reds and greens, the R95H can render them with an intensity that’s hard to find in typical Mini-LED TVs. Add very deep bla...

Available screen sizes: 48”, 55”, 65”, 77”, 83”

Technology: WRGB OLED

Brand: SAMSUNG

Verdict:

Samsung S85H is a very successful continuation of the S85 series and a TV that still performs its main role well: to be an affordable entry into the world of OLEDs. The biggest change from its predecessor is the use of LG Display's new OLED SE panel, but the overall character of this model remains practically unchanged. Its greatest strengths are still perfect blacks, very high contrast and a pict...

Technology: WRGB OLED

Verdict:

Samsung S90H is a TV that simply makes a brilliant impression. The combination of OLED’s absolute black, high brightness and excellent motion clarity produces a picture that’s hard to look away from. And that’s exactly what you expect from a good OLED TV. The matte anti-reflective coating also works very well. Reflections on a sunny day become less of an issue, and thanks to the standard polariser...

Technology: QD-OLED

Brand: SAMSUNG

Verdict:

The Samsung S99H is probably the best OLED TV we’ve tested so far, and certainly the best Samsung OLED in years. In terms of picture quality it’s really hard to find a weak spot. Blacks are perfect, as you’d expect from an OLED panel, and the HDR performance impresses with brightness and colour saturation. The use of a QD-OLED panel produces an image that in many scenes looks almost reference-leve...

Verdict:

Samsung QN80H is a genuinely successful mid-range TV and, in our view, that's how you should look at it. Not as the new Neo QLED flagship, but as the first model in Samsung's lineup that already gives a clear taste of better picture quality. Full-array Mini-LED backlighting, high brightness and well-saturated colours mean that for someone moving up from a regular LCD TV the difference can be reall...

Samsung The Frame Pro 2025 is a television that brings a breath of fresh air to the lifestyle model segment. Its design stands out - a symmetrical frame, the ease of swapping decorative frames, and above all, the image effect on the wall thanks to the matte finish and special mount. In everyday use, it makes a great impression, and the Art Store feature combined with high screen brightness means t...

Verdict:

Samsung S85F in the tested version with a WOLED panel is a television that must be evaluated primarily through the lens of its price. As befits organic technology, it offers perfect, almost ideal black levels and infinite contrast in cinematic conditions. This feature alone will make a huge impression on most buyers, especially when transitioning from any LCD television. However, it cannot be deni...
