Hisense is back with another novelty – a home projector that looks like a piece of gear worth 10 thousand, but costs like a good audio set. Vidda C3 Ultra is the new model from the Tri-Chroma series, which has just appeared in China. If it follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the global premiere is just a matter of time. And hopefully as soon as possible.
Brightness? Almost like the sun (or a very strong torch)
On paper, the C3 Ultra spits out 3,200 CVIA lumens – that's a Chinese standard that differs slightly from ANSI or ISO. In conversion, this gives about 2,600 ANSI lumens, which is more than enough for watching during the day, without pulling down the blinds. And all of this is thanks to the MCL39 laser, which combines two red lasers with one blue and one green, improving colour quality and light efficiency.
Image? 150 inches from three metres, 4K without quality loss
The projector is based on DLP technology with a 0.47” DMD chip, has 1.67x optical zoom, and can easily display 150 inches from just under 3.1 m. Or 100 inches from 2 m. No fiddling with sharpness – autofocus, auto-keystone, fit-to-screen, and dynamic colour adjustment are all included.
Additionally, it features full coverage of 110% BT.2020, colour accuracy (Delta E) that surpasses most LEDs, LCDs, and even OLEDs, as well as support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced.
System and interior – AI, JBL and power reserve
Under the hood, there's a MediaTek MT9681, 8 GB RAM, and a massive 128 GB of storage – enough to not worry about apps or updates. It most likely runs on VIDAA OS, but if it goes global, it might come with Google TV.
There's also AI from DeepSeek – a voice assistant that searches for content, answers questions, and helps with navigation. And what about the sound? Two JBL speakers at 10 W each + 200 W subwoofer with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support do their job.
Connectivity? Everything You Need
The Vidda C3 Ultra is a projector that – for its class – offers truly impressive connectivity options. Onboard, it features Wi-Fi 7, the latest standard providing faster and more stable internet connections, even under heavy network loads. Additionally, it includes Bluetooth 5.4, which ensures energy-efficient and reliable connections with wireless headphones, speakers, or controllers.
When it comes to wired connections, there’s nothing to fault. The projector is equipped with a HDMI 2.1 port with eARC, meaning full support for high-quality surround sound – without the need for an additional audio cable. For those who prefer a wired internet connection, there’s a 1 Gb/s Ethernet port, and for good measure, two USB Type A ports, allowing for the connection of external data storage or accessories.
And now the most important thing: price
In China, the Vidda C3 Ultra is priced at 11,999 yuan, which translates to about 7,000 zlotys. For a projector with a laser light source, 4K resolution, support for Dolby Vision, and powerful JBL sound – this is really an attractive offer. If Hisense decides to launch this model globally, it could significantly shake up the home projector segment.
