Season 3 of "Squid Game" is starting this Friday! The last and most brutal season!

Netflix drops Squid Game Season 3! Gi-hun and the Front Man return for one last round. New episodes, old rules, big revenge – premiering this Friday.

On Friday, June 27, Netflix is releasing the third – and as the creators say – final season of “Squid Game”. Without unnecessary previews: Gi-hun is back, the Front Man is back, the red jumpsuits are back, and the game is once again set to spiral out of control.

This time, the heroes already know what they're dealing with. The only question is: will it be enough to make a difference?

Fictionally: without mercy

There will be no time jumps. The third season begins exactly where the second left off. Gi-hun gives up his journey and decides to return – not to play, but to dismantle the entire structure from the inside. Sounds familiar? Yes, but this time he is not alone. And it's not just about people.

In the background, Jun-ho – the policeman, Front Man's brother, who survived, returns and now has his own scores to settle. One can guess that this will be more of a thriller with elements of a game, rather than the other way around.

The games themselves? Still brutal. Still symbolic. Still tapping into the lowest instincts – loyalty, betrayal, desperation. The creator of the series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, promises that it will be the most psychologically intense of all seasons.

Who’s back, who’s new?

The cast is a mix of well-known faces and a few new characters who – if everything goes as in previous seasons – will quickly become recognisable and even quicker to be eliminated.

  • Lee Jung-jae returns as Gi-hun (Player 456)

  • Lee Byung-hun as Front Man

  • Wi Ha-joon as Jun-ho

  • Yim Si-wan, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ha-neul and several others as new participants

Some characters will finally get more background – we will learn, among other things, how Front Man got to his position and what mechanisms really govern the "organisation".

Will it be a worthy conclusion, or just another round of the same game?

Director confirmed that this is the final season, but at the same time left a door open: if Netflix wants a spin-off, they're ready. But Gi-hun is set to get a proper conclusion. No cliffhangers.

If someone has watched the earlier seasons – and didn't just watch for the violence – then yes. The third season promises to be the most self-aware, both in terms of character and the game's very concept. The only question is whether it can wrap everything up with class, or if it will veer towards an average thriller with good set design.
