Samsung confirms: in 2026, much smaller Micro RGB televisions!

Calendar 12/17/2025

Samsung Micro RGB 2026 – new RGB LED TVs in sizes from 55 to 115 inches. Micro RGB technology, 100 percent BT.2020 coverage, AI features and ambitions to challenge OLED.

Samsung's response to LG's move. Just a few hours after LG Electronics showcased its first RGB LED television, Samsung Electronics made its own move. The Korean giant has confirmed that in 2026 it will significantly expand its Micro RGB television offering, making this technology available in a much wider range of sizes.

Six diagonals instead of one giant. The new line, which does not yet have an official model name, will include screens with diagonals of 55, 65, 75, 85, 100, and 115 inches. This is a huge change from the current offering, which is limited to a single 115-inch model. Samsung is announcing that each of the new televisions will receive a personalised Micro RGB module and an advanced chipset, designed to increase brightness and improve colour reproduction accuracy.

What is Micro RGB technology

MicroRGB is the name Samsung uses for its RGB LED technology, which is an extension of Mini-LED. Unlike traditional solutions such as Neo QLED with white and blue backlighting, RGB LED uses independent red, green, and blue diodes. This allows the light to be much easier to control, and the colour palette is wider and more accurate. Additional advanced local colour dimming control is expected to allow new TVs to achieve 100 percent coverage of the BT.2020 colour space. Microscopic LED modules will work with the new Micro RGB AI Engine Pro processor, which will ensure precise frame-by-frame image control.

New processor and AI features

Samsung announces its own image processing algorithms that take care of natural colour and sharpness. Among the new features are Colour Booster and advanced HDR modes that enhance contrast and dynamics of the image. Complementing this will be 4K AI Upscaling Pro and AI Motion Enhancer Pro technologies. An image free of reflections and a full premium package. The new Micro RGB televisions will also feature a Glare Free coating that reduces reflections from daylight and indoor lighting. Samsung has confirmed support for HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, Q-Symphony, Adaptive Sound, and the Eclipsa Audio format, a competitive surround sound system co-created by the company.

Price Still a Mystery

For now, we don't know the prices, but the scale of the planned offering suggests that Samsung sees Micro RGB as a real alternative to OLED and wants to gradually increase its availability. The current 115-inch model costs around 32 thousand dollars, which puts it out of reach for most consumers. Traditionally, however, smaller sizes tend to be much cheaper, so we can only hope that the 55 and 65-inch variants will prove to be more affordable.

More information coming at CES 2026. Details regarding the specifications, prices, and availability of Micro RGB TVs are expected to be revealed next month during CES 2026.
