Google is launching a new experimental project under Google Labs. CC is an AI agent based on the Gemini model, aimed at simplifying daily work organisation without the need to use multiple applications. Everything is done via email.
One email instead of multiple apps
After signing up for the program, CC connects with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and information from the web. Based on this, every morning it sends a message "Your Day Ahead," which is a concise summary of the day. In one email, the user receives a schedule of meetings, a list of key tasks, and the most important updates. CC can remind about a bill to pay, an upcoming deadline, or preparations for a meeting, making it easier to plan the day from the morning.
Fast action without leaving your inbox
The assistant is not just limited to providing information. When action is needed, CC can prepare a draft email or generate a link to an event in the calendar. This shortens the path from reminder to task execution and allows for more matters to be handled directly from the inbox.
CC operates in a two-way communication format. The user can respond to its message or write a separate email requesting the addition of a task, saving a note, remembering an idea, or searching for information. Over time, the assistant is meant to better understand the preferences and working style of the account owner.
Early Google Labs Experiment
Google emphasises that CC is an early test version. The service is available as early access for individual Google account users aged 18+, exclusively in the USA and Canada. Initially, it includes subscribers of Google AI Pro and Ultra. Workspace accounts, that is, business and educational accounts, are not currently supported. Those interested can sign up for the waiting list on the Google website.
Another attempt to tame productivity with AI
Email as the centre for managing your day is not a new idea. Similar solutions were previously offered by Mindy, Read AI, and Fireflies, while Huxe takes it a step further by turning the daily brief into a podcast. However, CC stands out with access to the full context—email, calendar, and files simultaneously. Google is testing whether an AI assistant that simply lands in your inbox can genuinely help with organising your day. CC is another signal that the market for personal AI assistants is just starting to gain momentum.
