The winter streaming season promises to be a clash of the giants. Apple TV+, HBO Max, and Netflix are preparing three powerful premieres that will debut one after another—like pearls on a string.
First, “Pluribus” from the creator of Breaking Bad, then the long-awaited finale of Stranger Things 5, and finally—a return to Westeros in the series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”.
“Pluribus” – a mystery from Albuquerque (Apple TV+)
Premiere: November 7, 2025
Platform: Apple TV+
Format: 4K HDR, Dolby Atmos
The new series from Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, is one of Apple's most enigmatic projects. “Pluribus” (from Latin “many”) is set to be a sci-fi drama about “the most unhappy man on Earth.” The story takes place in Albuquerque, and Apple is stoking the atmosphere with a series of mysterious clips and a phone number you can call to hear a disturbing message.
Yesterday, the first teaser was shown — and it looks like Apple is aiming once again for a dark, philosophical tale with cinematic scale.
“Stranger Things 5” – the end of the Hawkins era (Netflix)
Premieres: November 26, December 25, and December 31, 2025
Format: 4K HDR, Dolby Atmos
This is the finale. The eight episodes closing the saga of Stranger Things will be divided into three parts. Netflix has confirmed that this is its most expensive production in history — each episode cost between 50 to 60 million dollars, and the length is closer to movies than series (90–120 minutes). After a three-and-a-half-year break, Hawkins returns in style.
Will the finale meet the huge expectations of fans? One thing is certain — this will be Netflix's biggest premiere in 2025.
“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” – a return to Westeros (HBO Max)
Premiere: January 19, 2026
Format: 4K HDR, Dolby Atmos
After House of the Dragon, it's time for another chapter in the Game of Thrones universe. George R. R. Martin returns with a new tale, this time set one hundred years before the events of the original saga. The series will tell the story of an unusual duo — Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire, known as Egg.
The first season is set to consist of six episodes and, as HBO promises, will once again offer a monumental spectacle, full of political intrigue and dragons.
