James Cameron still believes in 3D. The director wants to remake "Aliens" into a new version.

James Cameron is not planning to give up on 3D technology and still considers it the future of cinema. The director of the Avatar series openly defends both 3D films and high frame rate (HFR), claiming that such an image best corresponds to how the human eye perceives reality. Interestingly, Cameron also revealed that he is considering creating a new version of the cult classic Aliens in 3D technology.

Cameron considers 3D to be a "better format" and continues to develop this technology

In a new interview, Cameron explained that his fascination with 3D has accompanied him since childhood, and later technological advancements finally allowed him to realize his own vision of spatial cinema. The director emphasizes that 3D much better reflects the way a person naturally perceives the world, which is why he believes it should be the standard for modern entertainment. The creator of Avatar is also continuing to develop High Frame Rate technology, meaning a higher frame rate of images. In recent films from the Avatar universe, he used 48 frames per second instead of the standard 24 fps, which was intended to improve the fluidity and comfort of watching in 3D. Cameron claims that HFR is not a separate format but a tool that allows for even greater immersion when watching spatial films.

“Aliens” may get a new 3D version after years

The most interesting information from the interview is the possibility of creating a 3D version of the 1986 film “Aliens.” Cameron admitted that current conversion tools are much better than they were a few years ago, allowing classic films to be transformed into 3D much more accurately and naturally today.

This is interesting because Cameron himself had previously strongly criticized poor 3D conversions carried out by Hollywood after the success of Avatar. The director believed that the technology should primarily be used to refresh iconic productions rather than quickly making money off poorly prepared spatial effects. However, it seems that now he sees a real opportunity to create a modern version of “Aliens” that could once again hit theaters and present the science fiction classic in a completely new form.
