Apple has officially rebranded its streaming service – Apple TV+ is now simply called Apple TV. The information appeared subtly in a footnote under the press release regarding the premiere of the film “F1 The Movie”, but it is highly likely that this is just the beginning of bigger changes in the Apple ecosystem.
“Apple TV+ is now simply Apple TV – with a new, dynamic identity,” the company announced.
There have been rumors circulating online for some time that Apple is preparing for the launch of a new Apple TV 4K device, which could mean another wave of changes in its streaming and hardware offerings. And that’s good, because the current nomenclature is exceptionally confusing for many users.
“F1 The Movie” with a streaming premiere in December
Apple has confirmed that “F1 The Movie” will be available on the Apple TV platform (formerly Apple TV+) starting December 12, 2025 as part of the standard subscription. The film premiered in theaters on June 25, 2025, and after 57 days – on August 22 – it was available for digital purchase. It has already grossed $629 million globally, becoming the highest-grossing sports film in history.
On the Apple TV platform, it will be available to watch in 4K Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos sound.
