Our verdict

Samsung, what on earth did you do? The S90H is a TV that won us over almost from the first minutes. If you're after a short answer to whether it's worth the money, we’ll be blunt: yes, absolutely. The combination of perfect, organic blacks with very high brightness and the vivid colours of a QD-OLED panel creates an effect that's hugely impressive from the first power-on. Choosing a matte finish proved to be a brilliant move. No more constant battles with the blinds or seeing your own reflection on a sunny day. Sure, purists like us will notice that in a room with strong sunlight the blacks can subtly shift towards grey-maroon tones, but the daytime viewing comfort here is hard to overstate. Most importantly, in the evening and at night the picture still delivers everything we love about OLEDs: perfect blacks, excellent contrast and incredible depth. Add to that a fast, polished Tizen system and a nearly complete suite of gaming features, led by Game Motion Plus. The result is an exceptionally complete TV where minor software niggles don't change the overall, very positive impression. Does the S90H have any major downside? It's hard to point to anything in the TV itself that would seriously detract from this model. The biggest concern is more about Samsung's policy. To this day it's difficult to understand why such a great QD-OLED panel is offered only in the 77-inch model we tested, the one with the HAT suffix in the name. That may change in future, but for now that's how things stand. So if you're specifically aiming for that variant, there's no need to think twice. The Samsung S90H 77-inch with a QD-OLED panel is one of the most exciting TVs of the year. Once the new-product premium fades and bigger discounts start to appear, it could become one of the best-value OLEDs on the market — and very likely one of the biggest bestsellers of 2026.

LG OLED B6 is a very successful continuation of the B series and a TV that makes a lot of sense as a first step into OLED. It doesn’t try to compete with the most expensive models in every respect, but on the key points it still delivers exactly what many people choose this technology for: perfect black, very high contrast and a picture that can simply look spectacular in movies. Much of that is down to the new budget WOLED panel, the OLED SE. Thanks to it, LG’s cheapest OLED is noticeably brighter than a few years ago, and around 800 nits in HDR is a result you can genuinely see when watching. Bright highlights have more punch, the image copes better in demanding scenes, and combined with OLED black levels the overall look can be really impressive. Films and series from streaming platforms, especially those available in Dolby Vision, benefit in particular. That’s when the B6 makes the most of its strengths and can present a picture that will feel like a big step up for someone moving from a typical LCD TV. This is not a model without compromises. Our biggest concern is how the screen handles reflections. The lack of a classic polariser means the TV fares much worse when placed opposite a large window or a strong light source. Reflections are more noticeable than on other WOLED panels, and the black loses some of its character in a bright room. In controlled conditions that won’t be a problem, but for a very bright living room you should approach this purchase with a bit of caution. There’s also a slight disappointment with webOS. The system itself is still very good, with a rich app library, the convenient Magic Remote and basically everything you’d expect from a modern Smart TV. The problem is that on the B6 it doesn’t always run as smoothly as it should. At times you can feel the new version of the system is more demanding and a bit 'heavier' than before. Despite these remarks, the LG B6 still performs very well. It delivers all the main advantages of OLED while not costing as much as the higher series. It makes the most sense when it appears in a good deal, because then it can become one of the most interesting choices for people who want to step into the world of OLED without overpaying.

Halo effect and black detail visibility:

Check the visibility of bright lights on a dark background. Mini-LEDs often struggle with this. The photo does not compare black levels – that’s what the video below is for.

The video accurately shows differences in contrast and black levels between TVs, as well as potential issues: halo around bright objects or Mini-LED zone operation visible as brightness jumps.

Because the Samsung S90H uses an OLED panel, it earns the highest rating for contrast and black levels. Importantly, this applies both to the WOLED version and to the QD-OLED variant we tested. Each pixel emits its own light and can be switched off completely, so the TV delivers perfect black and virtually infinite contrast. That translates into excellent image depth and a very clear separation of bright elements from dark backgrounds, without the blooming that still appears even in the best LCD TVs. The effect is especially impressive when watching in a darkened room, where dark scenes look incredibly realistic and the picture gains a stronger sense of three-dimensionality and detail.

The blacks on the LG OLED B6 are perfect. It's no surprise, since it's an OLED (WOLED), but this is where you can really see why the technology still has so many fans. Each pixel can switch off individually, so in dark scenes there’s no grey glow or blooming around bright elements. That gives the picture excellent depth and can make it look truly three-dimensional. Shadow detail also holds up well. Nothing blends into a single dark blotch, and fine elements remain visible even in tougher scenes. In that respect the B6 simply delivers everything we love about OLED TVs.

The Samsung S90H is a really bright TV for the mid-range among OLEDs. In synthetic measurements its peak brightness reached around 1650 nits. That's an outstanding result in this class, roughly 50% higher than what we’ve seen from previous models at this price point. Most importantly, these tests translate directly to real video material. In four out of the five film scenes we tested the S90H’s brightness hovered around 1300-1500 nits. That kind of headroom lets it reproduce most HDR films with very high impact and without obvious compromises, especially material mastered to 1000–1500 nits. In practice, highlights, reflections and explosions have the right punch and the picture doesn’t feel dimmed. Of course, on full-screen, very bright scenes the result is naturally lower and drops to about 900 nits. That’s a direct effect of the protection systems that keep the OLED panel from being overloaded. Even in that scenario there’s little to complain about. Nine hundred nits across the whole screen is still a very high level, guaranteeing excellent dynamics in HDR content. A huge advantage of QD-OLED TVs has always been the colours, and the S90H is no exception. The DCI-P3 colour space we measured reached a full 100% (actually 99.9%), while coverage of the much wider BT.2020 gamut hit about 89%. That’s a great result, allowing very saturated and vivid colours in HDR material. It’s worth emphasising that QD-OLED’s edge over WOLED panels isn’t just about gamut coverage. In practice it’s seen mostly in the higher brightness of saturated colours, in other words greater colour volume. That makes intense reds, greens and blues in HDR look juicier and more impressive.

LG B6 is a moderately bright OLED. After calibration it reaches around 800 nits, roughly 200 nits more than last year's B5. That's down to LG Display's new budget OLED SE panel. In practice this simply provides a bit more headroom and makes HDR look fuller in many scenes than on last year's lower-end OLEDs. That doesn't mean the B6 has no limitations. In very bright shots, when a large part of the screen is brightly lit, brightness can fall below 400 nits. This behaviour is typical of OLED TVs (especially in this segment), and it's then you see the biggest difference compared with pricier models. All the same, we rate the B6's results as really solid. It's still not a TV built to break brightness records, but the HDR effect is strong enough that films really feel like a step up from ordinary SDR picture.

Colour gamut

Using the OLED SE panel has had some impact on wide colour-gamut coverage. Compared with last year's model the figures have dropped by a few percentage points. DCI-P3 reaches about 96%, and BT.2020 around 71%. That doesn't mean the colours on the LG B6 are weak. In most films and TV series they look vivid, well saturated and simply pleasing to the eye. You only notice the difference in very bright, highly colourful scenes. Then colours lose some intensity compared with QD-OLED panels. This is due to the WOLED panel structure. In addition to the red, green and blue subpixels it also uses a white subpixel that helps boost brightness. This comes at a cost: at very high luminance some of the colour is effectively 'diluted' by the white light, so saturation of some hues can be slightly lower. Day-to-day it's not a big problem, but you can see it in the most demanding scenes.

The next stage of the test was to check how the S90H handles colour reproduction without any calibration. As always, we took measurements in Filmmaker Mode, the best factory picture setting. And here Samsung really deserves praise. The factory tuning is at a very high level, which wasn’t always the case a few years ago. The white balance was set correctly, as was the brightness response. The average colour reproduction error (Delta E) stayed around 3, which is below the level at which most viewers can notice inaccuracies. Only in the brightest shades of grey did the values slightly approach 4, but it’s still hard to call that a real problem during viewing. For out-of-the-box settings, the result is simply excellent.

We tested the LG B6 in Filmmaker Mode, the best picture setting available straight out of the box. ISF modes give very similar results, but in our tests we always stick to Filmmaker Mode for better comparison with other TVs. Each of them is a far better starting point than Vivid or Eco, where the picture is heavily boosted and noticeably less natural. For SDR content the factory settings perform really well. Colour errors are small, gamma behaves correctly, and the picture looks natural during regular viewing and does not seem overly enhanced.

It's a bit worse with HDR. Once you start playing that kind of content it's quickly apparent the white balance isn't perfectly set. Too much blue and red makes the image take on a slightly pink tint. Colour gamut measurements and the ColorChecker confirm this, with samples clearly shifting in that direction. It's not a defect that completely ruins the picture, but you can notice it with HDR films. So anyone who wants the most faithful image should consider calibration, which we cover later in the review.

All right, but you know we wouldn't be ourselves if we didn't also check how much we could get out of the S90H with professional calibration. And there was no big surprise. Since the out-of-the-box settings were already very good, there wasn't a huge margin for improvement. Even so, we managed to refine the image almost to perfection. After calibration the average colour reproduction errors fell below the threshold of perception, reaching Delta E values under 2 for both SDR and HDR material. We also improved the luminance response, so the picture more faithfully reflects the creators' intent and maintains correct tonality across the entire brightness range. After professional calibration the S90H therefore becomes a screen very close to reference. Will the difference be spectacular for everyone? Not necessarily. The factory settings already deliver a very high level, so in everyday viewing some people may not notice a huge jump. Much also depends on the specific unit. Our sample was very well tuned straight out of the box, but that doesn't mean every S90H will present the same level. Even identical models can differ in their factory calibration. That's exactly why professional calibration makes sense: it lets you bring a particular unit to the highest possible accuracy, rather than relying on a bit of luck when buying.

During calibration we focused mainly on HDR material, because that’s where the factory settings needed the most correction. We didn’t neglect SDR, though. After tuning it was brought almost to perfection. Colours are very accurate and brightness is controlled as it should be. The biggest change in HDR came from improving the white balance. After removing excess red and blue the pinkish tint disappeared and the image became much more natural. Skin tones, whites and all colours that had previously leaned towards pink improved. After calibration most errors fell below Delta E 2-3, the threshold at which an average viewer stops noticing differences with the naked eye. So the LG B6 can produce a very accurate picture, especially for the manufacturer’s entry-level OLED model.

The smoothness of tonal transitions here is really high. In most content it's hard to spot any obvious posterisation, and when it does appear it's only in the most demanding scenes. That's also one of the traits we often see in well-tuned QD-OLED panels. In practice they can perform more favourably in terms of gradation than many classic WOLEDs, although much depends on the electronics and the specific model. So if you're after the smoothest possible gradients, the version tested with a QD-OLED panel has a clear advantage here.

Tonal transitions in the LG B6 are quite good, though some limitations typical of WOLED panels are still apparent. In most scenes colours shift between shades smoothly, without obvious banding or unwanted digital artefacts. It is not always perfect, however. The most problems occur in the darker areas of the image, where WOLED panels have for years tended to perform a little worse. This is partly due to the greater difficulty of driving the panel at very low brightness and to the specifics of a design that uses a white subpixel. Compared with last year’s model there is a slight improvement, but it still is not at the level of the best QD-OLED TVs or more advanced LCD models.

Funkcja odpowiedzialna za wygładzanie przejść tonalnych nadal bardzo skutecznie ogranicza efekt posteryzacji. Trzeba jednak pamiętać, że działa dość agresywnie, bo oprócz samych artefaktów potrafi usunąć również ziarno filmowe i delikatnie zmiękczyć drobne detale obrazu. Jak zwykle jest to więc kwestia kompromisu i własnych preferencji. Jeśli zależy Wam na jak najwierniejszym odwzorowaniu materiału, polecamy pozostawić tę funkcję wyłączoną.

Również w kwestii upscalingu trudno mówić o rewolucji. S90H korzysta z tego samego autorskiego procesora obrazu NQ4 Gen3 co jego poprzednik, dlatego jakość skalowania pozostała praktycznie bez zmian. Telewizor dobrze radzi sobie z materiałami o niższej rozdzielczości, skutecznie poprawiając ich ostrość. Nadal jednak nie rozwiązano problemu z overscanem. W przypadku niektórych starszych materiałów, zwłaszcza archiwalnych nagrań, może zdarzyć się, że fragment obrazu przy krawędziach zostanie ucięty. To drobna wada, ale szkoda, że Samsung kolejny rok z rzędu pozostawił ten problem bez zmian.

LG B6 copes very well with lower-quality material. Much of that is down to effective digital image processing, which can mask some source imperfections without excessively smoothing the whole scene. The "Smooth Gradation" feature proves particularly useful. It lets you noticeably reduce posterization mentioned earlier, especially in dark parts of the image. The safest choice is to set it to Low or Medium. The feature still effectively smooths out harsh tonal transitions, but doesn't yet interfere too much with fine details. Die-hard purists can of course leave it off. Upscaling to 4K also performs very well. Full HD and 720p content retain a fair amount of detail, and the image is neither overly sharpened nor heavily blurred. Some limitations are only noticeable with very poor sources below 720p, where the smallest text and fine elements aren't always perfectly sharp, but this is true for almost every other TV on the market.

In terms of motion handling the S90H delivers a very high level of performance. A new feature here is a panel with a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, although in practice this will mainly benefit PC gamers. Movies, TV series and sports broadcasts don’t use such high refresh rates, so when watching them the difference compared with the standard 120 Hz won’t be noticeable. That said, thanks to the OLED panel’s instantaneous response time, motion is very clean and the image doesn’t suffer from the smearing common to many LCDs. Samsung has equipped the TV with extensive motion settings. You get two sliders: judder reduction and blur reduction, which let you easily tailor the image’s character to your preferences. You can easily achieve very smooth motion for sport, but you can just as easily preserve a more cinematic feel at the typical 24 fps. It all comes down to which effect you prefer.

One of the biggest advantages of OLED panels is their very fast pixel response time. That keeps the picture sharp and prevents visible smearing that often appears on LCD TVs. It does have a downside, though. During slow camera pans motion can look a bit choppier than on LCD screens, where the slower panel naturally masks some of that effect. Fortunately, on the LG B6 this is easy to tame with TruMotion. With the motion smoothing set correctly you can get smoother motion without giving the picture an exaggerated soap-opera effect.

From the start, the Samsung S90H gives the impression of a TV designed with gamers in mind, and it's easy to see why. The maker has equipped it with nearly everything you’d expect from a modern gaming display. You get as many as four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports, support for ALLM, VRR and very high refresh rates. There's also a clear Game Bar that lets you quickly check key picture parameters or change settings without leaving the game. Another very welcome improvement is HGiG support. Last year it could cause quite a few problems, but in the S90H it works exactly as it should.

Samsung's real ace, however, is its proprietary Game Motion Plus mode. The feature works much like the motion smoothing used in films: it improves animation smoothness in games while keeping input lag at a very reasonable level. For titles running at 30 or 60 fps, with the right settings, input lag in our testing never exceeded 40 ms. That's an excellent result, especially since on many manufacturers' TVs enabling similar features results in delays several times higher. Game Motion Plus doesn't replace Dolby Vision Gaming, of course, since it's a completely different type of feature, but overall for gaming it's an addition that many players may find more noticeable. Smoother motion in 30/60 fps games often makes more of a difference than HDR itself, which, incidentally, is often poorly implemented in games.

LG OLED B6 has plenty going for gamers; it's a complete base for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S or a solid PC. It comes with four full-size HDMI 2.1 ports with 48 Gb/s bandwidth, so you can forget about annoying cable swapping when you want to connect several newer devices at once. We get a full package of sync technologies, from classic VRR to G-Sync and FreeSync. The panel effortlessly syncs its refresh rate to the frame pacing produced by your console or graphics card. Of course ALLM is present: the B6 automatically recognises when a game is running and immediately cuts latency to a minimum. HDR support is also excellent. The TV supports Dolby Vision, and a correctly implemented HGiG means that after an initial calibration in the console settings the picture won't suffer from blown-out whites or lost detail in bright areas. The icing on the cake is the Game Bar. Instead of digging through the full menu mid-game, a single click lets you correct shadow visibility, tweak chosen parameters or simply check the display's current mode. All of this makes the LG B6 a great choice for gamers.

Input lag is another aspect that's really hard to fault. With a 120 Hz signal we measured just around 5 ms, which is an exceptional result. When switching to even higher refresh rates the delay fell to almost astronomically low levels, practically imperceptible during gameplay. The Samsung S90H delivers absolutely market-leading results here.

Input lag on the LG B6 is very low. At 120 Hz it's about 5 ms, and at 60 Hz it rises to roughly 15 ms. Both results are good enough that most gamers won't notice any delay between their inputs and what happens on screen. Dolby Vision performs a bit worse, with input lag sometimes increasing to around 25 ms. It's still not a bad result, but the most demanding gamers using an Xbox may already notice a difference compared with regular HDR.

The photo shows the legibility of small fonts. Ideally, lines should be the same thickness on both light and dark text, with minimal pixel gaps.

The Samsung S90H makes an excellent large PC screen, and not just because of its gaming feature set. The panel supports refresh rates up to 165 Hz, has very low input lag, and its official NVIDIA G-Sync certification allows smooth gameplay without screen tearing when paired with GeForce cards. If you're after a large display that will handle demanding PC games well, the S90H is a great choice.

And what about everyday work with text or browsing the web? That's good too. Fonts are sharp and legible, though it's worth remembering the specifics of QD-OLED panels. Up very close you can see the characteristic triangular subpixel layout, which can make letter edges look slightly jagged or pick up faint, coloured fringing. Is that a problem? In practice, it's minor. After all, we're talking about a 77-inch screen, so few people will be sitting a few dozen centimetres from the panel. From a normal viewing distance this effect becomes practically invisible.

The LG B6 also works very well as a computer display. Low input lag, support for VRR, G-Sync and FreeSync, and a high refresh rate mean there’s little to criticise when it comes to gaming. Compared with pricier models it only lacks extra modes with even higher refresh rates. In the best OLEDs and some LCD TVs you can now find 240 or even 330 Hz at lower resolutions. The B6 doesn’t offer that, but for most people it won’t be a major loss.

A more important consideration may be the WOLED panel’s subpixel structure. Because it uses four subpixels, small text in Windows isn’t perfectly crisp and you can sometimes see slight coloured fringing. For occasional web browsing or general computer work this is unlikely to be a problem. However, if someone plans to buy a smaller variant — for example a 48-inch model — and use it as their main monitor on the desk, they should bear that in mind.

As you'd expect from an OLED, the viewing angles are excellent, but the QD-OLED panel used here goes a step further. Even if you sit well off to the side of the screen, the colours hardly lose saturation and the drop in brightness is marginal. There's also no sign of the greenish tint that can be annoying on some TVs with panels from LG Display. The image holds its colours very well regardless of the angle you view it from.

Viewing angles on the LG B6 are very good, which is typical for almost all OLED TVs. Even when watching from well off to the side, the image retains high colour saturation and doesn't noticeably lose brightness. In that respect, only models with QD-OLED panels really perform better. There is, however, one thing worth mentioning. Some WOLED panels can show a slight greenish tint at steep viewing angles. It's not a rule; some units show this effect more, others hardly at all. It comes down to the individual unit.

The biggest new feature in the S90 series is the matte screen coating. Samsung has taken this step in this line for the first time and, in our view, it was a good move. In practice the difference is obvious straight away. The coating very effectively dampens reflections, so even when there's a window opposite the TV or a strong lamp is shining, you won't see the typical mirror-like glare on the screen. Instead you get only gently diffused light, which interferes much less with viewing. If the TV is going to sit in a bright lounge, that's hard to overstate. Of course there's a trade-off. QD-OLED with a matte coating has its characteristic quirk: when strong light hits the screen, blacks can shift slightly towards a cherry tint and colours may lose a little of their depth. This isn't a fault that appears in every situation, just a feature of this design under heavy lighting. Fortunately the TV is bright enough that daytime viewing isn't a problem. In SDR it reaches about 500 nits of average brightness, and combined with the matte coating this provides really comfortable viewing conditions.

With the LG B6, one of the bigger changes comes from the new OLED SE panel. The TV is slightly brighter than its predecessor, but at the same time handles direct reflections worse. The reason is a less effective polariser, so reflections from windows or lamps are less suppressed and blacks in a bright room can look slightly lifted. LG tried to partly mask this effect with a satin screen coating. It does help to gently diffuse reflections, but it doesn't eliminate them as effectively as solutions used previously. And in that respect the B series loses the most compared with the previous generation. During the day the screen no longer looks as clean, and strong light sources can clearly reflect off the panel.

That doesn't mean, of course, that the B6 isn't suitable for a bright living room. The higher screen brightness helps cut through ambient light and during normal viewing the picture remains easy to see. The problem starts when there's a large window or a strong lamp opposite the TV. In those conditions the B6 doesn't cope well. It's therefore best used in a room where you can at least partially control the light falling directly on the screen.

Classic TV

When it comes to plain cable or an over‑the‑air antenna, Samsung hasn’t reinvented the wheel. Putting the whole AI stuff to one side, the user largely gets the same as last year. The TV just does its job: it switches channels smoothly, has a tuner and a slot for a CI module, so in many cases you can do without an external set‑top box. Teletext is still available. The compact remote is also worth praising; its biggest advantage is the radio link, so you don’t need to point it directly at the TV to change anything. The problem is most competitors offer these features these days, and the S90H doesn’t bring anything particularly special to the table. What’s more, the maker took a small step backwards. The S90 range has dropped PiP, picture‑in‑picture. If you were used to glancing at the news in the corner while watching another programme, you can’t do that here. A shame.

Smart TV: Tizen

There may be little to get excited about with traditional TV features, but Tizen in its 2026 incarnation is absolutely top‑tier. Again putting AI features to one side, the key point is simple: this system is lightning‑fast. Responses to remote commands are instantaneous, and navigating menus shows no slow animations or annoying stutters. Although it doesn’t use Google TV, the app library is extensive. It includes practically all the major VOD streaming platforms, so there’s little to complain about on that front. Console‑free gamers will be happy too, because Samsung has greatly expanded the cloud gaming section, offering access to the main streaming services directly from the TV. As a Smart TV the S90H is a very well‑rounded and exceptionally fast set.

SmartTV: webOS

LG B6 uses webOS, LG’s proprietary platform. Its biggest advantage remains the control method. The included Magic Remote works like a mouse. Just move your wrist to move the cursor across the screen and point at items that interest you. At first it may seem unusual, but it quickly proves very convenient, especially when entering text, selecting apps or navigating a complex menu. The remote itself is quite minimalist and doesn't offer many traditional buttons, but the cursor control largely makes up for that. On the other hand, if you don't want to wave your hand to enter letters, you can simply speak the desired phrase to the remote and the AI voice assistant will provide suitable recommendations.

In terms of available apps, it's hard to fault webOS. You'll find practically all the major streaming services here, as well as extras such as AirPlay, screen mirroring and Chromecast. The TV therefore works well with both Apple phones and Android devices. It's just a pity the system doesn't run on the B6 as smoothly as on higher-tier models. At times it can respond with a slight delay, and the home screen is overloaded with recommendations, tiles and ads. That doesn't make webOS unusable, but it could certainly be more organised.

Classic features

The classic TV features, which many manufacturers are slowly beginning to forget, perform very well. The LG B6 allows, among other things, recording programmes to a connected drive or USB stick. The PVR function also works with a scheduler, so a recording can be planned in advance from the TV guide. This is handy when you want to save an episode, a match or another event broadcast while you're away. There's also a clear channel guide and smooth support for terrestrial, cable and satellite TV. For those who still regularly watch traditional television, the B6 is therefore a relatively complete device, as long as the absence of teletext isn't an issue.

The built-in player handles most popular video, audio and photo formats very well. Its "playback capabilities" are comprehensive enough that you definitely won't miss the option to install external players like VLC. However, we encountered a serious bug when trying to open HEIC photos from an iPhone. The S90H not only failed to display the files, it caused the system to hang completely. The receiver stopped responding to any of our commands, so we had to reset it; unplugging it solved the problem. This appears to be a software flaw that requires an urgent fix in the next firmware update.

The LG B6’s built-in player handles most common video files played from USB without any major problems. The TV also correctly supports subtitles and the usual audio formats, although it lacks DTS support. Photo handling is a bit worse. The list of supported formats is fairly limited and does not include HEIC, the format in which photos taken on an iPhone are stored by default. Those files therefore need to be converted to JPG beforehand or you can simply use the AirPlay feature.

Theoretically the audio spec in the S90 series has been unchanged for several years. We again get a 2.1 speaker system with a total power of 40 W. However, when we fired up the review unit we were pleasantly surprised. The TV sounded noticeably better than the dry specs or memories from tests of previous models would suggest. It's hard to say for sure whether that's down to optimisation of the audio processing software or simply the fact that the 77-inch cabinet allows somewhat larger drivers to be fitted and gives them more room to operate. The fact is the sound is fuller and more dynamic. That's a big plus for the manufacturer. The only real gripe is the lack of DTS support. Unfortunately this format is increasingly being dropped by TV makers, so Samsung is no exception. On board, however, there's support for the most popular spatial format, Dolby Atmos. Still, fans of physical Blu-ray releases, where DTS tracks are still commonly found, may feel slightly let down.

In terms of sound the LG B6 performs very similarly to last year’s model. It still has a 2.0-channel, 20 W system that is more than enough for everyday viewing. Dialogue is clear and the audio isn’t bad, but there’s none of the soundstage, dynamics or bass you get from higher-end models. The TV supports the Dolby Atmos spatial audio format, but DTS:X is missing. The biggest issue, however, isn’t the speakers themselves but the settings. Compared with its predecessor many of the options that let you tailor the sound to your preferences have gone. A few preset modes remain, including AI and Standard, but customisation options are much more limited than they were a year ago.
