Hisense A6N is a simple model aimed at users looking for an affordable everyday television. With its VA panel, it offers decent contrast, which works well for watching regular TV, especially in the evening when light reflections are not an issue. The digital processing also does a good job – content from terrestrial or satellite TV looks pretty good for this price range. When it comes to gaming, A6N is not bad, especially for occasional gamers. Low input lag and support for features like ALLM and VRR are nice additions that make games run smoothly with minimal delays. Dolby Vision support is another plus, although with this screen brightness, full HDR experiences are hard to come by. The VIDAA operating system is simple and runs smoothly, but it has its limitations. The number of available apps is not overwhelming – popular services like Netflix and YouTube are included, but for more niche apps, don't expect much. For those seeking greater versatility, this could be an issue. Of course, as a budget model, Hisense A6N has its drawbacks. The apps are easily accessible, and full integration with the Play Store allows downloading many additional apps, including games and media players, etc. The built-in Google Assistant adds even more functionality, enabling users to control the television with voice commands. All of this makes it a very functional device tailored to various users. The video accurately shows differences in contrast and black levels between TVs, as well as potential issues: halo around bright objects or Mini-LED zone operation visible as brightness jumps.

The TV is fitted with a VA panel, which offers significantly better contrast compared with IPS panels, so blacks are deeper and the picture looks more defined. On the test patterns we managed to achieve an impressive contrast ratio of around 5000:1, which translates to very good detail reproduction in dark scenes. However, due to the lack of local dimming, bear in mind that blacks in some sequences can look more navy blue than perfectly deep black. This is especially noticeable in demanding scenes, such as in the film "The Revenant". Even so, given the price of the set, the TV delivers decent black performance that will satisfy most users.

The tested model Sony X75WL is equipped with an IPS panel, which unfortunately negatively affects the quality of black levels and contrast. Black is shallow, and details in dark scenes are practically invisible. In the film "Sicario 2" one cannot see any details in the shadows. All of this makes the picture look weak and lacking in depth. The IPS panel used cannot provide the level of contrast that more demanding users would expect, and the lack of detail in dark scenes significantly lowers the quality of the viewing experience. The X75WL television does not have local dimming capabilities, which further complicates achieving the appropriate black levels and contrast in this category.

The HDR performance on A6N is unfortunately underwhelming. A peak brightness of just 250 nits doesn't allow for spectacular highlights, and HDR looks rather washed out, more like standard SDR. This won't satisfy more demanding users who want to enjoy high-quality film content. Additionally, colour gamut coverage isn't very impressive either, with DCI-P3 at 82% being a mediocre result that doesn't let you fully enjoy vibrant colours in HDR material.

The luminance chart for the X75WL Sony television showed a maximum value of 350 nits, which unfortunately is not an impressive result. The television does not surprise with its brightness, and all the HDR scenes we tested lacked depth and the appropriate lighting effect that should accompany HDR content. Additionally, the tragic coverage of the DCI-P3 colour palette makes it difficult for the television to reproduce rich colours, which significantly affects the overall viewing experience of HDR content. The lack of adequate brightness and poor colour coverage means that HDR effects are very limited in this model.

In the colour reproduction category, the Hisense A6N in Filmmaker Mode leaves much to be desired. Although the mode's name suggests we should expect faithful rendering of cinematic colours, the reality is different, and the TV has considerable picture-quality issues. The problem with white balance is particularly noticeable for both HD and 4K material, with a strong bias toward blue. This results in artificial, cool tones, clearly visible in the comparison image below. The ColourChecker test further confirms these errors, which are compounded by low colour-gamut coverage.

The gamma luminance curve shows a serious problem maintaining a 2.4 target. The curve sits well below the reference value, leading to excessive image brightening and washed-out blacks. The EOTF curve for 4K material also indicates brightness issues, with a significant early overshoot caused by the TV's excessive brightening that negatively affects picture quality. This picture profile prevents fully enjoying films and requires manual adjustment.

Colour reproduction tests for the model Sony X75WL are conducted in film mode, which offers the best picture settings but also has its flaws. The biggest issue with the X75WL Sony is the white balance – for both HD and 4K HDR content – which is characterised by a dominance of blue. As a result, the entire image feels too cool. The colour checker confirms these errors, showing that colours lean towards cooler shades. Regarding brightness characteristics, the contrast gamma is at quite a decent level; however, the same cannot be said for the EOTF curve. There are significant issues with maintaining the appropriate brightness – the image is either too bright or too dim, which affects the visual perception of the content.

Hisense A6N offers options and tools in its settings for adjusting many picture settings that we utilised. When it comes to white balance, we managed to eliminate excess blue – this effect is clearly visible in the comparison image below, where the boy in the picture almost "comes to life." A significant improvement can also be noticed in the gamma brightness characteristic – the television no longer has serious issues with excessively brightening the entire image. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for 4K materials, where the EOTF curve could not be fully corrected due to the exceptionally low brightness of this model. For HDR content, we use dynamic tone mapping, which allows for the recovery of many details despite the boosting of midtones in the image. For this television, this provides more benefits than drawbacks. The errors that are still visible in the test with the colour palette and Colour Checker for 4K content arise from low colour gamut coverage and are difficult to eliminate due to the television's characteristics. Nevertheless, the tonal quality of the image is significantly better, which is why we recommend calibrating the factory settings, which are far from ideal.

X75WL Sony is one of those cases where image calibration may not be heavily spectacular, but it provides a very good improvement in colour perception. The white balance, both for HD and 4K materials, has been significantly improved – we no longer have a strong dominance of cooler shades. The gamma curve also appears more stable, which translates to better image quality. However, the biggest issue remains the EOTF curve, which is responsible for brightness in 4K materials. Due to the technological limitations of the television (IPS panel and lack of local dimming technology), it's hard to talk about significant improvement, as we can't squeeze more out of this model. Despite these limitations, the tonality of the image has been significantly improved.

The smoothness of tonal transitions is one of this TV's strongest points. Hisense A6N handles tonal transitions very well, gradients in the image look natural and free of major artefacts. The TV has no significant issues in this area, although you can notice slight banding in bright and dark scenes. It is not pronounced enough to interfere with viewing. The smoothness of tonal transitions on the Hisense A6N is undoubtedly one of its biggest strengths.

In the X75WL model, the smoothness of tonal transitions performs very well. The gradation in the shadows is good, without visible issues, which positively impacts the image quality in darker areas. In brighter scenes, slight smoothness issues can be noticed, but they are not distinctly noticeable and shouldn't affect the viewing comfort. In a scene with an intense red colour, slight cuts are visible; however, they do not detract from the overall enjoyment of watching.

Let's see how A6N handles low-quality sources. When it comes to smoothing tonal transitions, the lack of features for reducing posterisation or smoothing such transitions in low-quality material like television or DVD may be noticeable to more demanding viewers. As for digital processing, the model was presented correctly and the branches were free of the characteristic jaggedness. The picture has strong three-dimensional modelling and a soft look, which may appeal to viewers who prefer this kind of image style.

In the case of low-quality tonal transitions, the Sony X75WL television performs poorly. The lack of any feature to improve tonal transitions results in noticeable imperfections in colour gradation. However, it can be noted that the digital processing is quite good – the image is displayed without overscan, and the overall presentation is relatively good thanks to the added slight sharpness, which some users may appreciate.

X75WL is not the best TV for gamers. It only has the ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) feature and a basic Game Bar, which are not sufficient to satisfy more demanding users. In this price range, one would expect support for features such as VRR or 120 Hz refresh rates – although in FULLHD, which are already standard – unfortunately, they are lacking here. With some other brands it can often be problematic and unplayable, but here it runs smoothly and without noticeable delays, which is a big plus for fans of fast-paced games.

Sony KD-43X75WL offers very low input lag at 14 ms, which is a big advantage for gamers expecting a quick response from the TV to commands from the controller. However, input lag of 130 ms in Dolby Vision mode completely disqualifies this mode from use during gaming. This means that users using Dolby Vision need to reckon with significant delay, which greatly affects comfort and precision during gameplay.

Unfortunately, the viewing angles on the Hisense A6N are poor, which is typical for VA panels. When watching from a wider angle the picture quickly loses quality, with colours fading and contrast dropping significantly. You get the best visual experience when sitting straight in front of the TV, because even a small shift to the side leads to poorer colour and contrast reproduction. This limitation can be significant in larger rooms where viewers sit at different angles to the screen.

The viewing angles on the model KD-43X75WL are quite good, thanks to the IPS panel used. The picture remains relatively faithful even when viewed at an angle, which can be beneficial in situations where the television is viewed from different spots in the room. Nevertheless, we have seen better models with this type of panel that offer more uniform colour and contrast quality at wider angles.

Unfortunately, a major disappointment is the lack of support for Polish characters. This causes a serious problem when playing content with Polish subtitles. This limitation significantly impacts the comfort of watching films from local media.

The built-in multimedia player in the Sony X75WL model performs quite well, opening most popular video, audio, and photo formats. However, if we encounter issues playing less popular files, we can easily solve this problem by installing another player available on Google Play Store, which allows for a more comprehensive utilisation of the television's capabilities.

Sound in the Hisense A6N can be described as rather flat and average, typical of budget televisions. However, when connected to an external audio system, users won't be disappointed, because the TV supports most popular audio formats, including DTS and Dolby, allowing for a much better audio experience.

The sound in the model X75WL is very pleasant, and for this class and size of Sony television, it's quite impressive. You can hear a subtle bass, and the sound feels clear, which positively impacts the reception of multimedia content. The television handles both dialogues and sound effects well.
