Philips does not plan to launch smaller sizes of its new OLED810 model in the UK market. Only the 77-inch version will be available in the UK, despite the company announcing back in January that the OLED810 would also be available in 42″, 48″, and 55″ variants. These smaller models – it turns out – will only be available on the continent.
OLED810? In the UK only in XXL size
The OLED810 is a mid-range television, positioned below the more advanced OLED910 and OLED950 series. Philips positions it as competition for players like the LG C5, Panasonic Z90B, or Samsung S90F. The decision to limit available sizes may suggest that the brand has quite cautious ambitions in the mid-tier OLED segment – at least in the UK.
This isn’t a complete surprise – a month earlier, the company revealed only the price of the 77" model (£2,199), while remaining silent about smaller versions. Now we know why – they simply won’t be available in the UK.
WhatHiFi, which was the first to report this information, suggests that Philips sees no sense in offering smaller OLED810 models since it sells a budget model, the OLED760, in similar sizes. Interestingly, the cheaper television has four HDMI 2.1 ports, while the more expensive OLED810 only has two – so it’s not entirely clear who this model is actually “better” for.
Will Australia escape the "UK effect"?
The truth is, the Australian market has its own dynamics. While there’s definitely a love for big screens, not every home is built for a 77-inch monster—especially in urban areas where space can be limited. Smaller models still see solid demand in apartments, bedrooms, and more modest living rooms. That could play to Australia’s advantage.
For now, it’s fair to say: Australia, enjoy the full lineup while you can. A 77" TV at a 55" price might sound like a steal, but realistically—not every Aussie lounge room has the space to pull it off.
