Epson has announced a new, upcoming flagship projector designed for commercial applications, which aims to set a new standard of "performance, precision, and versatility" in large spaces. While there are currently few details available, the company has confirmed that the device will be showcased for the first time at the ISE 2026 trade fair in Barcelona, taking place in February next year.
The Japanese manufacturer, known for some of the best projectors on the professional market, revealed that the new flagship will be a model with very high brightness and 4K resolution. At this moment, however, it is unclear what type of light source will be used, or what maximum brightness and image diagonal the projector will offer. One thing is certain – the equipment has been designed with large venues in mind, such as performance halls, exhibition centres, and immersive installations.
Epson is also promising a new integrated cooling system that aims to improve reliability during prolonged use, as well as a wide range of connections ensuring compatibility with various signal sources and AV systems.
“Infinite Column of Light” at the Epson Stand
During ISE 2026, visitors will be able to see a new projector in a special installation called the “Infinity installation”. The experience has been designed by Luca Rapis from One Thousand and is meant to resemble an “infinite column of light”, surrounding viewers with a dynamic, layered environment that engages both the senses and the imagination. It sounds ambitious – and very much in Epson's style, which has been focusing on spectacular demonstrations of projection capabilities for years.
New generation of professional lenses
Together with the flagship projector, Epson will also showcase a new generation of professional lenses. These are designed to enhance installation flexibility and enable the projector to be used in a wide range of scenarios – from classic event halls to unconventional spaces and special projects.
Interactive UST Projector for Education
The second innovation announced for ISE 2026 will be an interactive ultra-short throw projector, designed for education and teamwork in classrooms. Here, too, the details are sparse, but Epson promises a large image, high resolution, and brightness that ensures good visibility from any spot in the classroom.
However, the key word is "interactive." It suggests the possibility of direct interaction with the displayed image – perhaps using a pointer, pen, or another dedicated accessory. Additionally, the new UST projector is said to consume less energy than traditional display technologies, which could be a significant selling point for schools and public institutions.
Projection versus panels and LEDs
Epson emphasises that its goal is to demonstrate that modern projection can "surpass flat panels and LED displays in terms of creativity, flexibility, and visual impact." We still have to wait for pricing and exact timelines for the market launch, but all indications suggest that the new projectors will be available for sale in 2026 – and they are unlikely to be cheap solutions.
